I love getting outside with the wild toddler and running off his energy. Fresh air helps us both sleep better and when we've been outside we make wiser food choices throughout the day.
Just for you I have created a great free printable tip sheet for the perfect playdate, whether it's a group of littles or just a mommy and me day.
Snacks! Who is standing here with me, saying I want a snack? I love them, my son loves being given snacks and they make every playdate better. If your child is like mine then picky eaters can all untie with these easy snack ideas.
Eat Hummus filled cucumbers: Just pit a thick slice of cucumber and fill with a hummus that your little one will like. My son likes roasted bell pepper hummus (shh, there are no veggies in it….). Hard boiled eggs are a super quick snack that your children can help you prepare. My son is allowed to help place the eggs into the water and he loves getting to help out. Potato salad is a favorite in our family and I often sprinkle in a bi of flax meal to add a little extra superfood to our picnics. Cheese and pickle sandwiches made with simple burger buns are great for tiny hands to feed themselves so we get a second to eat too.
Don't be afraid to rest. The outdoors can let your little monkey burn off their energy or have tummy time in new surroundings. But know when it is better to nap than to play. There's no shame in calling it nap-time and curling up on a good blanket in the sun. Sometimes a nap, together, in the sunshine is what every little sweet pea needs. Resting, together, allows you both to bond, to relax and to let go of pent up stress from the week.
