When The Title Dad Makes Him Mad
Ridding your mind of the sickness that would allow us to compliment a man for being a man will save your sanity. As a mother you hold up the whole village. Take the compliments for yourself. While sack-less men hurt their children and their wives and girlfriends you stand there every day and get judged for doing a great job. Thanks moms!
Believing that deadbeats should be held emotionally responsible is not a negative way to look at men. Expecting them to be their best selves is showing how much you respect men. It is degrading to expect and therefore think so little of fathers.
I have the privilege to know and be loved by some great men in my life. My son has the gift to be surrounded by great, if slightly technically nerdy, male role-models. Because I have always thought so highly of men it comes as a shock whenever I hear or deal with deadbeat fathers who can not bother themselves with caring about a life they created.
Love, not blood, is what matters in raising wonderful babies into wonderful adults.
1. Raise your expectations for the men around you.
2. Demand respect and always show respect back to good men.
3. Do not be afraid to tell off idiots.
4. Stand up for your emotional needs. You are not a doormat.
5. Show your child how a real parent acts everyday.
