Bram's 2 Month Update
Little man got to ergo through his first Thanksgiving. He mostly fussed or slept and the Ergo was super handy to keep him tucked into while I ate pie.
The Hanukkah bush lights mesmerized Bram. I would hold him and wiggle the lights at him. The mini mammal even posed as the best stocking stuffer. Love is not perfectly wrapped gifts, sparking wines or big dinners. Love is laughing with a two month old as he sees Christmas lights for the first time and knowing your souls were always meant to meet. No matter the sleepless nights, colic, emotional whiplash, or regret over partners, the joy I have discovered in the very foundations of my soul for this tiny person make my life so much closer to god.
Again this month I have been taught how important it is to slow down and take in the moment with a new baby. He would just hang out under my robe, nursing and bonding. Love is in the moments, those seconds so filled with love that the rest of the world fades out of view and all you are left with is your heart in the shape of a soul.
Sleeping: I finally got him moved to the firm matters pad on my bed. He sleeps with his face right next to me and I have had several occurrences where he will stop breathing until I breathe on his skin. Bram has managed to sleep one regular 3-hour segment at night which is great but he started refusing naps at this age.
Eating/Feeding: Bram still ate 20- 24 times a day. The water diet his pediatrician put him on did not go over well. The first sip of water got spit out and the look on my little boy's face was priceless, he was not having it. So I continued to feed him on demand with da moobags.
Sizes: I would say size One is his current diaper size but he had a big belly and little legs so it was hard to keep the flying poop inside the diaper. He wore a lot of 6 and 3 month size clothes because that' is what I had bought but they were way too big for him.
Milestones: Making more eye contact. Trying to roll over. Slept for a whole hour straight at nap time! Bram gave me a smooch or at least tired to while I was carrying him around and my heart melted.
We got to enjoy our very first mommy and me bath; Bram loved floating in my French Arm Massage and staring out the window.
Wonder Weeks/ Growth Spurts to watch out for: As Bram hit 6 weeks I got to experience the week from howling hell. He would not settle and it was a very long week. This was a good time to go for hour long stroller walks with him while I wore headphones because his cries could be heard all over the neighborhood.
