Sore Joint Relief
Epsom salts, wraps and soaks
The magnesium in epsom salt really helps relieve pains associated with joint issues and inflammation. It relaxes all our muscles and nerve endings, relieving stiffness and pain. Both soaking and wraps can help without heavy use of herbs or prescription pain relievers.
Soak in a well heated bath with half a cup of epsom salt and two tablespoons of olive oil. After your bath follow your normal routine and before dressing use flannel bandages on the sore joints. The ingredients for the flannel bandage wrap should be olive oil and castor oil. I recommend experimenting with the ratio of oils for what suits your skin type best.
There is magnesium oil that can be applied topically and absorbed through the skin to reduce inflammation. Try rubbing it on sore joints in place of the olive oil to relieve pain before you go to bed in the evenings.
