Pushing Past Self-Protection
What if this infinite ability towards self protection is actually hurting our hearts and minds?
Ask yourself how has the ability to shut down getting wounded truly helped you in your life? Or has it, perhaps, hindered more goodness that it has avoided any kind of hurt?
Push past any feelings of fear or trepidation at having to change and move towards the ability to feel openly; to weep, to laugh and, most deeply important, to love. The idea may seem silly, too easy to really do anything good for your life and yet by releasing the need for armor we free our hearts to breath easy and be full.
"Refocus your mind"
Becoming self aware of what causes you shut off, the whens and whys, will assist you in not needing the crutch of emotional distance.
When do you notice the need to armor your feelings? Are there similarities each time?
Allow yourself to release your attachment to shutting down and closing off. Focus on the freedom to be open to all opportunities of feeling; it will change your life.
