Colic solutions for the natural mommy
Herbal answers for reflux, gas and colic
The down side of using zantac is that it tends to not last long, normally 1-2 weeks and the histamine H2-blocker looses strength. Also, histamine (tummy acid) blockers need to often be adjusted for weight gain. As weight growth for new colic and reflux suffering babies can be pretty hard to gauge the drugs like zantac can be overly difficult to keep dosages right for helping little ones.
A tea tincture is less dependent on weight and can be more liberally dispensed. Always ask your doctor before adding water and liquids to your baby's diet as this can fill them up but not give any nutrients. If your baby is like my son, he was put on water to slow weight gain at a month, then it is a safer bet. I highly recommend a small, infant sized open syringe for administrating the tea tincture. Give in the side of their mouth midway towards the back to help reduce choking and spit up.
Camomile will relax and ease stomach tension-based pain for your baby and acts as a wonderfully powerful all natural anti-inflammatory agent.
Peppermint can help relieve stomach aches, cramping from too much vomiting and over time with consistent use will help lessen the severity of vomiting.
Catnip works as a mild and natural herbal sedative helping get your little one to sleep after a hard crying session from colic.
