Tube from the Past: Sci-Fi Shows
A nicely complex story ark that covers all the seasons and wraps up pretty well, if a little down beat-ly. For a fan of shows with romantic subplots Babylon 5 disappoints with not much, but it has good action, silly but groundbreaking effects and interesting characters.
Star Trek Next Generation
Perhaps the best of all the Star Trek shows and films, the first season works out a lot of kinks but the later seasons bring the humor and the drama with a crew it's hard not to care about. Data is a personal favorite of mine but you may find your own character to root for out of the many lead actors that are delightful.
Star Gate Universe
A nice about dark character development centered show helps us care about the people aboard Destiny. Though the show ends on a cliff hanger the stories are intriguing and the leads, Rush and Young, make for an entertaining (and lady enjoyable) piece of sci-fi.
Interesting idea that could have used more time to develop but nonetheless is still a worthwhile watch for the sci-fi minded fan. Strong minded female lead, which is always great to see in the manly world of sci-fi.
A bit darkly warlike for my taste but Farscape has great makeup special effects. The show’s sentient ship is always a good take on the material world of a sci-fi show.
Having an emo lead kills any feelings you might have towards the characters' survival. As a warning this show doesn’t have a second season so it can’t wrap up any plot points but it is an interesting visual look and if you’re less a fan of space opera and more of science what-if’s then this may be up your alley.
Star Trek Enterprise
Shall we all just agree that this one never took place? Good. Too little story, bad character development and a lack of the Star Trek feeling made this show unmatchable for most of the Star Trek fans I know.
